Has the auto industry peaked? This ratings agency thinks so

The U.S. auto sales market has peaked, according to Fitch Ratings.

The credit rating agency sees next year as somewhat stable for the industry, reflecting solid credit profiles for issuers in the industry and modest global sales and production growth. But Fitch said in a news release that it expects U.S. auto sales to fall to 16.8 million in 2018 from an expected 17 million in 2017.
