Ninth Circuit Says Cosmetology Students Are Not Employees of School

SHRM Article ImageThe 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has held that cosmetology students were not employees of their schools. The court joined two other appellate courts in adopting the “primary beneficiary” test to determine whether students are employees.
