I think the common mistake that most people make is they actually prepare less for the sales interview than they would a sales call. Think of a sales interview as a sales call on a deal that pays you a $500,000 commission; if that was the case how much prep work would you do ahead of time? Would you put together a presentation package for the client? I’m not saying do a PowerPoint for the person interviewing you for the sales job that you do want to be organized and present them with presentation materials, a business plan and a timeline for your success within their organization. If you do this you will be ahead of 99.9% of your competition. I’ve put together a quick video that outlines some of my sales position interview advice.
