Weird plane-shaped Boeing 787 flight path crossed Colorado

Test pilots for the Boeing Co. showed off their artistic side on Wednesday, tracing an image in the sky with their flight path of the 787 Dreamliner they were flying that stretched across the continental United States.

Part of the route crossed the eastern plains of Colorado.

As charted by flight tracking website FlightAware, the wingspan of the pattern stretched from the Great Lakes to the southern edge of Texas on what was a nearly 18-hour flight to and from Boeing Field in Seattle.
