Shreveport nonprofits seeking 2027 city civic-appropriation support must submit six complete copies by 5 p.m. Friday, July 31. Late applications will not be reviewed.

Shreveport nonprofits seeking 2027 city civic-appropriation funding have until 5 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, to submit their applications. The City of Shreveport describes the deadline as firm and says late or incomplete applications will not be accepted or reviewed.

Applications must be mailed or hand-delivered to the Office of the Mayor/Chief Administrative Officer at 505 Travis Street, Suite 200, Shreveport, LA 71101. The deadline applies to the city’s receipt of the application, not simply to placing it in the mail.

Four funding categories

The 2027 Civic Appropriations Fund accepts applications in four categories: Arts and Culture, Citywide Community Enhancement, Human Services and Economic Development.

Organizations applying under Citywide Community Enhancement must offer programs that are available citywide. The application materials also limit each organization to one application for the funding cycle.

Who is generally eligible

Under the city’s guidelines, generally eligible applicants are IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organizations based in Shreveport. Organizations must have existed for at least three years and be governed by a board that meets at least quarterly.

Meeting those baseline requirements does not guarantee funding. The city says applications are reviewed competitively, with decisions depending on the submitted information, evaluation scores, available funding and compliance with the guidelines.

Applicants must submit six copies

Each organization must provide six complete copies: one original and five copies. The city application and guidelines call for supporting materials including incorporation documents, a current Secretary of State certificate showing good standing, 501(c)(3) documentation, a board member list, program and annual budgets, applicable financial statements, bylaws, a matching-fund statement and a signed certification.

Applicants should also review the required narrative and budget sections before assembling the package. The guidelines include evaluation criteria and matching requirements, including a required in-kind match. The materials distinguish that requirement from an optional cash match, so organizations should verify how each contribution is documented.

What applicants should not assume

Submitting an application does not mean an organization will receive a 2027 award. The city documents describe the process as competitive and do not establish a guaranteed award amount, total grant pool or number of recipients.

For organizations that depend on civic-appropriation support, the immediate task is completing the package, checking every attachment and allowing enough time for delivery. Questions about the process can be directed to the Shreveport City Council at 318-673-5262.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Office of the Mayor/CAO, 505 Travis Street, Suite 200, Shreveport, LA 71101.
