Town of Clinton says 2026-27 property tax bills are online, being printed, and expected in late July, with grace extended through Aug. 19 (rate: 2.879%).

The Town of Clinton says its 2026-27 property tax bills are available online now, being printed, and are expected to be mailed by the end of next week (July 24). The town also reports an extended grace period until August 19, 2026.

What’s set for 2026-27

In a July 14 News Flash, the town says Hunterdon County has submitted the certified 2026-27 tax rate of 2.879%. The town also reiterates that bills are now online for property owners to review ahead of the mailed envelope.

When you should expect mailed bills

If you normally wait for paper billing, the town’s guidance is to expect mailing by July 24 (the end of next week). Until then, the town directs residents to check their bills online.

Due dates, grace rules, and penalties (general guidance)

For the town’s standard property-tax schedule, the Tax Collection page lists these due dates:

February 1 (1st quarter)

May 1 (2nd quarter)

August 1 (3rd quarter)

November 1 (4th quarter)

The same page states there is a 10-day grace period to the 10th of the month; if the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday, the grace period is extended to the next business day.

On interest and penalties, the Tax Collection page says the town charges 8% on the first $1,500 and 18% on all delinquencies thereafter. It also lists a 6% year-end penalty on balances (including interest) over $10,000 as of 12/31.

Separately, the town’s July 14 News Flash reports an extended grace period until Aug. 19, 2026. Residents who are planning payments should check the town’s posted instructions so they follow the correct deadline for this billing cycle.

Want e-mail delivery for some Town bills?

The town also offers e-billing for municipal utility bills—Water, Sewer, and Garbage. The sign-up page notes that changes can take up to two billing cycles to take effect, and it applies to utility billing (not property taxes).

For the full property-tax instructions and the town’s grace/penalty language, use the Town of Clinton’s website (News Flash and Tax Collection pages).
