When solicitation is allowed (seasonal hours the Township sets)

The Township’s policy sets seasonal time windows for solicitors/transient vendors:

• October 1 through April 30: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• May 1 through September 30: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

With the May 1 seasonal shift, the permitted window extends later in the day during warmer months—one more reason residents may want to use both tools (registry + window cling).

If a vendor ignores the rules or your signage

The Township states that violating its solicitation restrictions is treated as a misdemeanor under Ohio law (ORC § 505.99). It also says that if a solicitor/vendor is issued a citation and the citation is paid or results in a guilty finding, the vendor’s license will be revoked and the vendor would not be allowed to get another permit for one year.

In addition, the Township policy says soliciting at a residence with a no-solicitation decal/sign (or at a residence listed on the Do Not Solicit registry) can be prosecuted for criminal trespassing.

Resident checklist (quick and practical)
