In the ordinance’s summary and background, the City describes the work as exploratory non-destructive excavating, followed by repair of uncovered piping related to the CO₂ system. The ordinance says the work is to be completed on a time and material basis.

What residents should watch for (and how to report issues)

The City notes that water distribution problems can include leaks or breaks in pipes, and it lists specific symptoms residents should report. If you notice a drop in pressure, discolored or cloudy water, an unexplained rise in water consumption, or excess water in your yard, the City instructs residents to call Engage Toledo at 419-936-2020.

The City also explains that its Water Distribution team can investigate whether a break or leak is in the city-owned portion of the line. If the problem is on the resident’s side of the service line, the City says residents will need to call a plumber and schedule a repair.

For water-bill questions (not service disruptions), the City directs residents to DPU Customer Service at 419-245-1800.

If your water looks discolored after service is restored, the City says it can be caused by sediment being stirred up and typically clears after running your cold tap for a few minutes (and it advises avoiding laundry until water runs clear).
