The City of Woodinville is asking for public input on the future Woodinville Eastrail Park and trail. The feedback process is intended to inform the vision for the corridor before the city advances later implementation decisions.

Where residents can participate

The city also planned in-person outreach at three local events: Wilmot Gateway Park on July 8, the Woodinville Farmers Market on July 18 and the Celebrate Woodinville Festival on Aug. 8.

Those dates give residents additional opportunities to participate beyond the online survey. The city’s notice identifies the effort as the Eastrail Corridor Visioning Survey and places it within the broader Woodinville Eastrail Corridor Project.

The process is a public visioning effort, not an approval for construction. The city has not announced a final park design, selected the park’s amenities or provided a construction budget or schedule in the notice.

What happens next

The known public deadline is Aug. 30, when the survey closes. The city’s notice does not identify a specific date for a decision after the survey ends. Woodinville maintains an official meetings portal with agendas, minutes, recordings and meeting documents, which is where future city materials may be posted.

The city’s Planning Commission is described as an advisory body for land use, long-range planning, capital projects and development agreements. The approved notice does not state that the commission has taken a final action on the Eastrail vision.

Separate tourism-grant deadline

The same city news notice also lists a separate deadline for tourism-promotion grant applications. Applications are due by noon Aug. 10, 2026. The grants are funded through a portion of the city’s one-percent hotel-room sales tax.

Applications are to be reviewed by the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, which will make recommendations to the City Council. That process does not mean applicants have been awarded funding; any recommendation remains distinct from City Council action.

For the Eastrail project, the immediate opportunity for residents is to submit input before the Aug. 30 survey deadline. The public feedback will help shape the corridor’s vision, while final design, funding and construction decisions remain unresolved in the city’s notice.
