The driver managed to escape with minor injuries and was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital. Authorities confirmed no additional occupants were in the vehicle. The incident led to a temporary closure of Utopia Drive, which has since reopened. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Aviation unit assisted in the search of the waterway and surrounding areas. A tow truck later removed the vehicle from the canal.
