Grand Forks Daily Brief: Campus Planning, Law Exams, and City Notes
Campus Planning Takes Center Stage
The University of North Dakota hosted a campus master planning open forum on Thursday, drawing faculty, students, and community members into a conversation about the school’s long-term footprint in Grand Forks. The session focused on future academic space, housing needs, and how campus growth connects with surrounding neighborhoods.
University leaders emphasized that feedback gathered this week will help guide planning decisions over the next several years. Additional forums and opportunities for public input are expected as the process continues.
Law Students Sit for Simulated Bar Exam
At UND’s School of Law, students wrapped up a two-day simulated Uniform Bar Exam running Thursday and Friday. The exercise mirrors the structure and intensity of the real bar exam, giving future attorneys a realistic practice run under timed conditions.
Faculty say the simulation is a key milestone for students preparing to graduate and sit for the actual bar later this year. Portions of the exam took place in multiple law school rooms to accommodate the large group.
City and Community Notes
While no major city council actions were scheduled in Grand Forks this week, nearby East Grand Forks released updated civic calendars and community notices, a reminder of how closely linked the two cities remain. Local senior centers and public facilities across the area continue regular programming as February gets underway.
Looking ahead, residents can expect a mix of campus events, public meetings, and winter activities to pick up pace as the month continues.
What to Watch Next
More UND events are scheduled in the coming days, including academic talks and community gatherings. City meetings and regional updates are also expected to resume next week, bringing fresh items onto the local agenda.
