Wentzville’s Friday Brief: City Meetings, Recreation Updates, and Public Safety Programs
Wentzville is heading into the weekend with a full civic calendar and a few schedule notes residents may want to keep in mind. From City Hall meetings to parks and recreation updates, here’s a quick look at what’s happening locally.
City Meetings on the Calendar
The Planning and Zoning Commission is set to meet Monday evening, February 9, at Wentzville City Hall. The meeting will focus on development-related items and land use planning as the city continues to grow.
Later in the week, the Board of Aldermen will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, February 11. These meetings typically cover city operations, public works, and long-range planning topics that affect day-to-day life across Wentzville.
Recreation Center Hours Adjusted Sunday
Families planning indoor activities this weekend should note that the Wentzville Recreation Center will operate on shortened hours this Sunday, February 8, in observance of Super Bowl Sunday. The temporary schedule adjustment is part of the city’s standard holiday and event operations.
Public Safety Programs Open for Residents
The Wentzville Police Department is opening registration for its 2026 Citizens Police Academy. The eight-week program offers residents and those who work in Wentzville a behind-the-scenes look at local law enforcement, including training, ride-alongs, and discussions with officers.
In addition, the city’s Community Emergency Response Team training begins next week. The program prepares volunteers to assist during emergencies by learning basic disaster response and rescue skills, helping bridge the gap before first responders arrive.
Looking Ahead
City offices will be closed later this month for President’s Day, and additional committee meetings are scheduled throughout February. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official city updates and meeting agendas.
