Police chase ends with arrests

Greenfield police dealt with a dangerous situation Thursday morning after officers located a stolen vehicle using license plate reader technology. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled, leading to a high-speed chase through parts of Greenfield and nearby communities.

The pursuit ended after officers used a maneuver to stop the vehicle near Southridge Mall. Five teenagers, ranging in age from 14 to 17, were taken into custody. Police said evidence in the vehicle suggested the group may have been targeting additional cars. No serious injuries were reported.

Shots fired at local gas station

Later in the day, police responded to a separate incident at a gas station near 60th Street and Cold Spring Road. Investigators say a man fired multiple rounds at a semi-truck driver in the parking lot.

No one was injured, and the suspect, a 46-year-old man from Milwaukee, surrendered at the scene. A handgun was recovered, and the case has been referred to the district attorney for review. Police have not identified a clear motive.
