Agawam Daily Brief: February 7, 2026
Wings flying off the menu before kickoff
A longtime Agawam sports bar and restaurant says this is shaping up to be its biggest wing weekend in decades. With the Patriots back in the championship game, the kitchen is already close to maxing out preorders, and some pickup time slots for Sunday are nearly full. The owner credits jumbo fresh wings and popular house sauces for the surge, and is urging regulars to lock in orders early before the fryers hit capacity.
Snowy morning, dangerous cold tonight
A quick-moving system is bringing light to moderate snow through late morning, with totals generally under an inch but enough to keep roads slick. Behind the storm, bitter northwest winds will drive afternoon wind chills below zero and drop actual temperatures below zero overnight. An extreme cold warning is in effect, and residents are being advised to limit time outside, check on vulnerable neighbors, and bring pets indoors.
Housing market steady but pricey
A new snapshot of the Agawam housing market shows 23 active listings in town, with a median asking price just under $500,000. Analysts describe conditions as a balanced market, with homes averaging a little over two months on the market and a wide price range from starter condos to seven-figure properties. For buyers, that means more options than during the pandemic boom, but prices remain elevated compared to a few years ago.
History museum opens doors this afternoon
If you are looking for an indoor outing between snow showers, the Agawam Historical and Fire House Museum will be open today from 1 to 3 p.m. Visitors can explore the Marilyn P. Curry History Room and get a close look at artifacts from the town’s fire service and early settlement. Admission is free, making it a low-key way to enjoy a winter afternoon and learn more about local history.
