Pedestrian killed in Douglas Avenue crash

Caledonia police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Thursday evening along Douglas Avenue near Scott’s Way. Investigators say a Dodge minivan traveling southbound struck a 57-year-old Burlington man who may have been attempting to cross the roadway. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 68-year-old man from Racine, stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No arrests or citations have been announced as of Saturday afternoon while crash reconstruction and witness interviews continue. Police are asking anyone who was in the area around 7 p.m. Thursday or who may have dash camera footage to contact investigators.
