Monroe County seniors can still use produce vouchers through the Chestnuthill Senior Center
Monroe County’s 2026 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) vouchers are a practical way for eligible seniors to stretch grocery budgets during farmers market season—but the pickup rules are strict.
For Brodheadsville-area residents, the county listed Chestnuthill Senior Center as a pickup site on Tuesday, June 9, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 1919 Route 209. Because today is June 26, 2026, that Chestnuthill date has already passed.
What the vouchers are (and where they can be used)
The SFMNP provides $25 vouchers to eligible seniors. Monroe County says the vouchers can be redeemed at Monroe County farmers markets through November 30, and a list of farmers markets will be provided at the distribution sites.
Who qualifies and what you must bring
Monroe County says seniors must be 60 years of age or older (or turn 60 by 12/31/2026) and meet the program’s household income guidelines.
The June 2026 materials list gross income at or below $29,526 for a single individual or $40,034 for a married couple.
For pickup, Monroe County says eligible seniors must provide:
- Proof of age and residency (examples given include a driver’s license or photo ID)
- A completed application
If a senior is unable to enroll in person, a representative can pick up vouchers with a signed and completed proxy form (instead of the application).
Monroe County also warns that both applicants and representatives should expect to wait once you arrive, because the program is popular.
Pickup schedule after Chestnuthill
Chestnuthill Senior Center (Brodheadsville)
- Tuesday, June 9: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Loder Senior Center (East Stroudsburg) (for people who missed early June dates)
- Wednesdays only, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- From June 24 through September 30
Address for the Chestnuthill site is listed as 1919 Route 209. The county materials also emphasize that vouchers will not be mailed and must be picked up in person at a community site—no exceptions.
