Kankakee-Bradley gas and diesel prices: AAA regular $3.762, diesel $4.832 (July 7)

Kankakee IL Gas & Diesel Watch — AAA’s daily price check for the Kankakee-Bradley metro shows regular gas and diesel are both lower on July 7 than in the last daily and weekly checks, with bigger easing versus a month ago.

Regular gas (AAA Kankakee-Bradley metro average): $3.762/gal as of July 7. That’s down from $3.778 yesterday and $3.883 a week ago, and well below $4.511 a month ago. Regular gas remains above the $3.253 year-ago average.

Diesel (AAA Kankakee-Bradley metro average): $4.832/gal as of July 7. Diesel is down from $4.890 yesterday and $5.024 a week ago, and notably lower than $5.736 a month ago. Compared with a year ago, diesel is still above the $3.684 year-ago average.

What this means for local drivers, deliveries, and work fleets i

These figures are metro averages from AAA’s survey, so they don’t guarantee any specific station’s posted price—but they’re a useful baseline for budgeting.

If you’re commuting or planning a weekend trip, the drop versus yesterday and last week suggests fuel costs are easing from the last few check-ins. Still, you’ll likely see variation at individual pumps.

For diesel-heavy work—trucking, deliveries, contractors, and farm operations—diesel coming down from last week and last month can help, but the year-ago comparison shows diesel costs may still be meaningfully higher for fleets than they were a year ago.

Wider context: why EIA still matters

AAA’s local updates are designed for near-term decisions. For the broader national direction, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) tracks gasoline and on-highway diesel trends on a weekly basis—useful context alongside day-to-day local changes.

What to watch next i

• AAA’s next daily update to see if Kankakee-Bradley’s averages keep easing or swing back up.
• EIA’s weekly fuel update for the national trend that can influence where local prices go next.
