Oneida County youth grant deadline is Aug. 12 for Barneveld-area programs
Oneida County is accepting 2027 youth-program grant applications from eligible nonprofits and municipalities serving youth in the Barneveld area.
Nonprofits and municipal programs serving young people in the Barneveld area have until close of business on August 12, 2026, to apply for Oneida County Youth Bureau funding for 2027 programs.
The county announced the application period July 10. Proposals must be sent by email to Karen Pensero-Shanley at kpensero-shanley@oneidacountyny.gov. The opportunity is open to eligible nonprofit organizations and municipalities, including cities, towns and villages that operate qualifying youth programs.
What the grants can support
The funding is divided into four categories, each with different eligibility and service requirements.
The Youth Development Program supports direct services for youth under age 21, including positive youth development, intervention, diversion and recreation programs. The Runaway and Homeless Youth Act category is for nonprofit agencies providing crisis and transitional living services to young people ages 16 to 21.
Youth Sports and Education Opportunity Funding is intended to support sports programs for underserved youth ages 6 to 17. Eligible programs must offer a variety of sports for a broad range of young people in under-resourced communities. Youth Team Sports funding focuses specifically on organized team sports for underserved youth under age 18.
Not every youth activity will qualify automatically. Applicants must meet the applicable guidelines established by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and submit the required forms and supporting information.
