Palm Coast gas near $4 while diesel tops $5 at checked stations

Local station prices differ
BJ’s at 5857 State Route 100 listed regular gasoline at $3.93 per gallon and diesel at $5.12. The 7-Eleven at 2560 Highway 100 listed regular gas at $3.959 and diesel at $5.459.
Those are station-level listings, not an official Palm Coast average. Among the two locations checked, the prices differed by about 3 cents per gallon for regular gasoline and 34 cents for diesel. Prices at other stations may vary based on location, membership discounts, payment methods and when each listing is updated.
Florida prices eased from Tuesday but remain higher than last week
AAA’s July 29 Florida averages were $3.921 for regular gasoline and $5.415 for diesel. Regular gas was down from $3.942 on Tuesday, but above the week-earlier average of $3.906 and the month-earlier average of $3.778.
Diesel also edged lower from Tuesday’s $5.427 average. It remained well above the week-earlier average of $5.214 and the month-earlier average of $4.579. The statewide data therefore shows modest day-to-day easing without a return to the lower prices recorded earlier in the comparison periods.
What higher fuel costs could mean locally
For commuters and households, regular gasoline near $4 raises the cost of daily trips and weekend drives. Diesel above $5 can be especially important for contractors, landscapers, delivery operators, service businesses and other companies that use work trucks or diesel equipment.
Fuel costs can also become one factor in delivery charges, service-call pricing and transportation expenses for restaurants and other small businesses. Those are potential effects to watch, not documented price increases from specific local businesses. Residents planning longer trips may want to compare stations before filling up, particularly because the two checked locations showed a noticeable diesel difference.
