Newark Fuel Prices Vary Widely as Ohio Diesel Rises
Newark-area regular gas averages about $3.27 and diesel $3.84, while one Speedway lists higher prices; Ohio diesel rose in AAA’s latest check.
Newark-area regular gasoline is averaging about $3.27 per gallon and diesel about $3.84 across 25 stations within five miles, according to the latest iExit Newark price guide. A separate station listing shows how widely prices can vary from one pump to another.
The Speedway at 117 East Main Street listed regular gasoline at $3.999 per gallon and diesel at $5.749. The page says its fuel prices were updated within 24 hours. Those figures apply to that station only, not to every Newark-area pump, and prices may change after publication.
Local averages sit well below one station listing
iExit says its Newark comparison covers 25 stations within five miles of the city. The guide lists an average of about $3.27 for regular gasoline and $3.84 for diesel. That makes the Speedway listing roughly 73 cents higher than the local regular-gas average and about $1.91 higher than the local diesel average.
The comparison is a reminder that an area average and a station’s posted price answer different questions. Drivers, contractors and commercial operators may want to check multiple nearby stations before filling up, especially when buying diesel in larger quantities.
Ohio regular gas eased while diesel rose
The latest AAA Ohio fuel-price table, dated July 29, lists the statewide regular-gas average at $3.857 per gallon, down from $3.861 the previous day. Ohio diesel was listed at $5.155, up from $5.079.
Those AAA figures are statewide Ohio averages and do not represent Newark’s local average. They provide broader context while the iExit figures and the Speedway listing show the differences drivers may encounter around Newark.
What the spread means for local drivers and businesses
For commuters and households, comparing stations can reduce the cost of repeated fill-ups. Diesel price differences are especially important for contractors, delivery drivers, farmers, restaurants and service businesses that operate trucks, vans or other work vehicles. Weekend travelers may also want to check current pump prices before setting out.
Fuel listings are time-sensitive, so drivers should confirm prices before making a special trip. Share the highest and lowest regular-gas or diesel prices you are seeing around Newark.
