Brentwood Fuel Check: Gas Spans 10 Cents, Diesel 26 Cents
Brentwood station listings show regular gas at $5.399-$5.499 and diesel at $6.499-$6.759, while California averages remain higher.
Regular gasoline prices differed by 10 cents per gallon between two Brentwood 7-Eleven stations in the latest available listings. Diesel showed a wider 26-cent spread.
| Brentwood station | Regular gasoline | Diesel |
|---|---|---|
| 5931 Lone Tree Way | $5.399 | $6.499 |
| 7460 Brentwood Blvd | $5.499 | $6.759 |
The 7-Eleven fuel listing for 5931 Lone Tree Way shows regular gasoline at $5.399 per gallon and diesel at $6.499. The 7-Eleven listing for 7460 Brentwood Blvd shows regular gasoline at $5.499 and diesel at $6.759. Both pages state that gas prices were updated within 24 hours.
That creates a documented 10-cent difference for regular gas and a 26-cent difference for diesel between the two locations. The comparison is a station snapshot, not an official citywide Brentwood average, and prices can change after the listings are updated.
California price context
AAAโs California price table, dated July 29, listed a statewide average of $5.646 for regular gasoline and $6.892 for diesel. Both documented Brentwood regular-gas prices were below that statewide regular average, as were both Brentwood diesel listings compared with the statewide diesel average.
AAAโs California regular-gas average was slightly lower than the previous dayโs $5.647, while diesel was slightly higher than the previous dayโs $6.889. Both fuels remained above their week-ago and month-ago averages: regular gasoline was up from $5.545 a week earlier and $5.455 a month earlier, while diesel was up from $6.750 a week earlier and $6.583 a month earlier.
The U.S. Energy Information Administrationโs weekly California data released July 28 showed regular gasoline at $5.489 and on-highway diesel at $6.670 for the week of July 27. The EIA and AAA figures use different timing and methods, so neither should be treated as a Brentwood city price.
Tax context for Brentwood drivers
Californiaโs fuel-tax rates also changed July 1. A California Department of Tax and Fee Administration notice lists the gasoline excise tax at 63.4 cents per gallon, up from 61.2 cents, and the diesel excise tax at 48.2 cents, up from 46.6 cents. The notice says the annual adjustment is required under state law and that fuel-tax revenue supports transportation infrastructure.
The tax increase is relevant statewide cost context, but it does not by itself explain the prices posted at either Brentwood station. For commuters and households, a 10-cent regular-gas difference can matter over repeated fill-ups. The larger diesel spread is more consequential for contractors, delivery drivers, farmers, restaurants, service businesses and other operators using work trucks or equipment.
Weekend travelers should check the posted pump price before filling up because station-level prices can move independently of broader California averages. These are observed prices at two Brentwood stations, not a citywide average. What are the highest and lowest pump prices you are seeing around Brentwood?
