Coeur d’Alene Gas and Diesel Prices Rise Again in AAA Check
AAA’s August 1 check puts Coeur d’Alene regular gas at $4.185 and diesel at $5.100, with both prices higher than yesterday and last week.
Regular gasoline and diesel prices both moved higher in the Coeur d’Alene metro, according to AAA’s August 1, 2026, fuel-price check. Regular gas averaged $4.185 per gallon, while diesel averaged $5.100 per gallon.
Those figures are metro averages, not the price at every station. Drivers may still find meaningful differences by location, brand and fuel grade.
Regular gas rises from yesterday and last week
Coeur d’Alene’s regular-gas average increased 1.2 cents from the previous day and 2 cents from a week earlier. The longer-term increase is larger: the average is 24.3 cents higher than one month ago and 84.5 cents higher than one year ago.
At $4.185 per gallon, the Coeur d’Alene regular-gas average is below Idaho’s statewide average of $4.312. It is above AAA’s national regular-gas average of $4.101.
Diesel moves higher as well
Diesel averaged $5.100 per gallon in the Coeur d’Alene metro on August 1. That was 1.5 cents higher than the previous day and 2.8 cents above the week-ago average.
Compared with longer-term benchmarks, diesel was up 31.3 cents from one month ago and $1.077 from one year ago. The local diesel average remained below Idaho’s statewide average of $5.308.
What higher pump prices can mean locally
For commuters, even modest increases can add up over repeated fill-ups, especially for households with longer daily drives. Higher diesel costs can also raise operating expenses for contractors, delivery operators, landscapers, farmers and other businesses that rely on work trucks or equipment.
Those added transportation costs may put pressure on service calls, deliveries and goods moved through the region, although the AAA data does not document specific local price changes for businesses. Weekend travelers and residents driving to recreation areas may also see higher trip costs.
Recent regional reporting has connected Idaho’s broader fuel-price increase with uncertainty in international oil markets and shipping routes. That provides context for the wider trend, but it does not establish one definitive cause for every change at Coeur d’Alene-area pumps.
