The larger monthly and yearly increases remain more significant for household budgets and weekend travel plans.

Diesel costs can be especially important for contractors, delivery operators, landscapers, service companies and restaurants that move equipment, workers or supplies. Higher transportation costs can also affect delivery fees, service calls, food distribution and the cost of operating local events.
