San Rafael Contacts 13 Unpermitted Food Vendors in Joint Operation
San Rafael and Marin County agencies contacted 13 unpermitted mobile food vendors and confiscated approximately 500 pounds of food during a joint enforcement operation on July 11, 2026, according to the City of San Rafael.
The operation brought together the cityโs Code Enforcement Division, the San Rafael Police Department and Marin County Environmental Health Services. It focused on mobile food vendors operating without the required permits, while police also carried out parking-related enforcement during the effort.
Officials began the operation at approximately 6:15 p.m. and ended it at approximately 9:15 p.m. The timing makes the effort roughly three hours long, rather than a single isolated contact by one agency.
The verified record is limited to the July 11 operation, its three participating agencies, the 13 vendor contacts, approximately 500 pounds of confiscated food and parking-related police enforcement. Any later compliance orders, penalties, appeals or additional operations would need to be established by a subsequent city or county record.
