Buffalo Seeks Answers on City Water System as It Recruits Building Inspector

BUFFALO, Wyo. — The City of Buffalo is seeking more information about its water system while also recruiting for two municipal positions that help administer local building, zoning and code requirements.

As of Aug. 7, 2026, the city’s official website lists a current “City of Buffalo Water Studies” announcement. The same site lists a Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Position and a Buffalo Planner Position.

The water-study listing could inform future utility decisions, but the accessible city information does not identify the studies’ scope, findings, cost or decision deadline. It also does not say that the studies found contamination, shortages or a specific infrastructure failure.

Staffing openings affect city administration

The building inspector position also serves as a code-enforcement officer. That role and the planner position are relevant to how the city handles building, zoning and other code requirements affecting property owners, contractors, developers and residents.

The postings show that Buffalo is recruiting for both jobs; they do not establish whether either position has been filled. The city’s website identifies the municipality at 46 North Main St. in Buffalo, Wyoming.
