Kyle Council Begins Review of Proposed 2026-27 City Budget

Kyle has posted its proposed fiscal-year 2026-27 budget for public review ahead of a City Council hearing and public budget conversation on Aug. 1, 2026.

The city’s official calendar lists special City Council meetings on July 30, Aug. 1 and Aug. 4. The budget remains a proposal: Kyle has not yet disclosed the final adopted budget amount or tax rate, and any changes made after the Aug. 1 hearing are not yet known.

Other summer planning decisions

Kyle is also seeking public input on a draft Community Development Block Grant plan. The proposal anticipates directing $294,137 in federal funding toward eligible sidewalk and accessibility improvements. That funding remains part of a draft plan, rather than a confirmed award or expenditure.

The budget review comes as the city continues its 2022 Road Bond program and addresses construction and detours. A road-bond open house is scheduled for July 29, 2026. The upcoming budget process will set the city’s spending priorities for the next fiscal year, including decisions related to growth, road projects, water and wastewater needs, and public-safety staffing. The next listed City Council meeting in the sequence is Aug. 4.
