Farmington Crossings construction continues as Bray Road closures begin
Periodic closures of Bray Road will begin in Farmington in July 2026 as construction continues on Farmington Crossings, a major commercial development on the city’s west side.
The City of Farmington said the closures are necessary for construction associated with the Farmington Crossings development. The project is located between Bray Road and Highway 67, placing the road work directly along an important west-side access route.
Drivers using Bray Road should expect interruptions when construction-related closures are in effect. The closures are described as periodic, rather than a continuous shutdown of the road, so access will change as work proceeds.
Road work tied to development
The Bray Road work is connected to an assurance agreement approved by the St. Francois County Commission during its Feb. 10, 2026, meeting. KFMO/B104 reported that the agreement was made with Target and was tied to completion of the Bray Road project.
The agreement provides a public link between the commercial development and the roadway improvements now affecting travel in the area. For residents, commuters and businesses using the west side of Farmington, the immediate effect will be periodic changes in access near the project site.
The city’s announcement does not list specific closure dates, hours or detours. Travelers should watch for city updates and on-site traffic directions before using Bray Road near Farmington Crossings.
Site work is underway
KFMO/B104 reported that site work was underway and described Farmington Crossings as one of the area’s largest new commercial developments. The project is expected to add substantial commercial activity on Farmington’s west side and could alter access and development patterns along the Bray Road and Highway 67 corridor.
Target has been identified in connection with the county assurance agreement. That connection establishes the company’s role in the roadway agreement, but it does not by itself establish a complete tenant lineup or a final opening date for the development.
For now, the next known change for travelers is the start of periodic Bray Road closures in July 2026. The closures are part of ongoing construction tied to Farmington Crossings, while site work and the related roadway project move forward.
