NDDOT schedules four non-driver ID events; no fee for 18+
North Dakota residents without driver’s licenses can apply for non-driver photo IDs at four NDDOT events scheduled for Oct. 19–22, 2026. Each event is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The events are scheduled for Oct. 19 at the Sioux County Courthouse, 303 2nd Ave., in Fort Yates; Oct. 20 at Sky Dancer Casino, 3965 Sky Dancer Way NE, in Belcourt; Oct. 21 at the North Segment Community Center, 430 12th St. N., in New Town; and Oct. 22 at the Blue Building, 816 3rd Ave. N., in Fort Totten.
NDDOT says applicants age 18 and older will not be charged. The event notice asks applicants to bring a certified birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of North Dakota residence, plus name-change documents when applicable. The agency’s general ID requirements list alternatives for some documents and advise applicants who cannot provide required documents to contact NDDOT for guidance.
NDDOT says staff will review documents, process paperwork overnight and mail cards within five days. The Secretary of State lists a North Dakota non-driver ID as one accepted form of voter identification, alongside other forms. The first event is scheduled for Oct. 19 in Fort Yates. NDDOT lists 1-855-633-6835 for questions.
