FAA urges specified U.S. operators to use caution in Jeddah airspace
The FAA is advising specified U.S. aviation operators to exercise caution in the Jeddah Flight Information Region (FIR), designated OEJD. Notice to Airmen A0056/26 took effect at 21:00 UTC Oct. 11, 2026, and is scheduled to remain in effect until 05:00 UTC Dec. 10. It cites safety-of-flight risks associated with ongoing military activities and interference with global navigation satellite systems (GNSS).
The notice says potential risks could affect aircraft at all altitudes and during overflight, arrival and departure. It applies to all U.S. air carriers and commercial operators; all people exercising privileges of an FAA-issued airman certificate, except those operating U.S.-registered aircraft for a foreign air carrier; and all operators of U.S.-registered civil aircraft, except when the operator is a foreign air carrier.
It directs covered operators to report safety or security incidents observed or experienced while operating in the affected airspace to the FAA Washington Operations Center. The advisory urges caution but does not prohibit flights or require cancellations or rerouting.
