James Bolling assumed Purcell police chief role Oct. 1
The City of Purcell says James Bolling assumed the police-chief position on Oct. 1, 2026, and its department directory lists him as chief. The city says the chief oversees department operations, administration, sworn officers and civilian personnel.
Purcell says Bolling began law-enforcement work with the U.S. Air Force in 2000, served nine years with the Cleveland County Sheriffโs Office, joined Purcell Police in 2015, and continues to serve in the Air Force Reserve. The department lists 22 certified officers and six civilian staff members.
A July 9, 2026, Oklahoma CLEET patrol-officer posting identified Bolling as assistant chief and set Oct. 1 as the application deadline for that opening.
