Volkswagen Group of America reported a safety recall covering certain 2024โ2025 Audi Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron vehicles. The recall estimates 9,048 vehicles may be affected under NHTSA campaign 26V698000, also listed as Audi campaign 93SK. That estimate is not a count of confirmed battery failures, and a vehicleโs model year alone does not establish whether it is covered.
The recall says a high-voltage battery may fail and cause a fire, increasing the risk of injury. Owners are advised to keep charging at or below 80% until the repair is completed. The remedy is still under development; interim safety letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 18, 2026, with further letters to follow when a remedy is available.
Owners can check a vehicleโs VIN through NHTSAโs recall lookup to see whether it needs repair. VINs for this recall became searchable Oct. 23, two days after the recall was reported to NHTSA. The agency cautions that some recently announced recalls may not yet show all VINs.
