Wildfire smoke drove Detroit-area air quality to hazardous levels in July episode
Smoke from Canadian and northern Minnesota wildfires pushed a station-specific AQI reading to 650 at Detroit-Southwest on July 16, while an air-quality alert remained in effect the following day.
