Atlanta Public Schools began classes Aug. 3, alongside several large metro Atlanta districts. Other districts have start dates scheduled through Aug. 7.
Fulton County adopted a July 15 resolution declining to join Atlanta’s proposed 30-year TAD extension, citing taxpayer burden and legal risk, and set safeguards.
On June 15, Atlanta City Council approved the FY2027 budget and Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative. AJC reports TAD-backed bonds may still need APS/Fulton buy-in.
