UNESCO’s August 2026 education data refresh adds nearly 100,000 datapoints as 273 million remained out of school in 2024
UNESCO’s Institute for Statistics has expanded its global education database to more than 8.26 million published datapoints, while separate UNESCO reporting estimates that 273 million children and young people were out of school in 2024.
