City’s Transition to Independent Police Department

Public Meetings on Beach Development

The annual Pioneer Days Parade is scheduled for February 14–15, 2026, with the theme “Peace, Love & Paradise.” The parade will march from St. Ambrose Church to Ocean Way, celebrating community pride with music, color, and fun. Recent Fatal Train Incident

On February 2, 2026, a man was struck and killed by a Brightline train near West Hillsboro Boulevard and Dixie Highway. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the incident, which occurred around 9:20 PM. The man was attempting to cross the east set of railroad tracks when the collision occurred. Safety equipment was functioning properly at the time of the incident. The identity of the man has not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
