Public safety steps ahead of Super Bowl weekend

Carpentersville police increased patrols across the village as Super Bowl weekend began, with officers focusing on impaired driving enforcement from Friday through early Monday morning. Police shooting under investigation

Earlier this week, a police-involved shooting in Carpentersville drew regional attention after officers encountered an armed individual who allegedly opened fire. Officers returned fire, striking the suspect once. Authorities said the individual survived and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
