Winter parking reminder remains in effect

Kaysville officials are again reminding residents that overnight winter parking restrictions are active through March 1. Between midnight and 6 a.m., vehicles are not allowed on city streets, regardless of snowfall. The rule is meant to keep roads clear for plows and emergency access, and citations can be issued even on dry nights.

City leaders say the restriction is one of the most common sources of winter complaints, and they encourage neighbors to plan driveway and off-street parking ahead of time to avoid fines.

City Council meets as February begins

The Kaysville City Council met Thursday evening, February 5, for its first regular meeting of the month. Items on the agenda included routine approvals, departmental updates, and ongoing discussions tied to city planning and services.

While no major votes drew widespread attention, the meeting marked the start of a busy February calendar that includes additional council and commission meetings, along with business-focused workshops and community programs.

Community safety and learning events continue

Earlier this week, residents had the chance to attend a First Aid and CPR certification class hosted at the city fire station. The training provided hands-on instruction and official certification, part of the city’s ongoing effort to boost emergency preparedness at the neighborhood level.

Looking ahead to the weekend and early next week, Kaysville’s event calendar includes a garden planning class focused on starting plants from seed, along with business networking meetings and additional recreation programs. City staff encourage residents to check the calendar often, as winter and early spring tend to fill quickly with classes and workshops.
