Community wellness classes keep Del City moving

Del City wrapped up a busy week at the community center, with a Total Wellness session on Thursday evening and a S.A.I.L balance and strength class on Friday morning. The programs focus on helping adults and older residents stay active, improve stability, and build healthy habits close to home.

Another S.A.I.L class is already on the calendar for Monday morning, giving anyone who missed this week a quick chance to jump in. The steady schedule of free and low-cost classes continues to make the community center one of the easiest places in town to focus on long-term health.

Ward 2 prepares for bulk trash pickup week

Residents in Ward 2 are getting ready for their monthly bulk trash pickup, which runs from Monday through Friday next week. Neighbors are encouraged to have items at the curb by early Monday morning so sanitation crews can make it through the entire ward on schedule.

The city reminds residents to keep piles on their own property, away from meters, mailboxes, and overhead lines, and to bag smaller items so they can be collected safely. Bulk trash runs on a rotating ward schedule all year, giving each part of Del City a regular chance to clear out larger items without an extra fee.

Survey and fundraiser spotlight local involvement

A metro community resource page is currently highlighting two Del City items: a pickleball survey and a fundraiser titled “Help Provide Letter Jackets for Del City Seniors.” The listings give residents quick access to both a say in future recreation options and a way to support local students.

Pickleball continues to grow across central Oklahoma, and feedback from Del City players and beginners alike will help shape what comes next for courts and programming. At the same time, the letter-jacket drive reflects the community’s ongoing habit of stepping up for young people, especially as graduation season inches closer.
