Interfaith Sanctuary begins transition into new State Street shelter

A new, larger shelter on State Street has received a Certificate of Occupancy from the City of Boise, clearing the way for guests to begin moving in. The facility is designed to operate 24/7 year-round and is meant to replace the organization’s smaller River Street warehouse setup and other overflow arrangements used in recent years.

Beyond beds, the building is expected to bring more services under one roof, including on-site medical care, expanded case management, and spaces for education and recovery-focused programming. The move-in is being staged while final minor work continues, with staff transitioning guests into the new space.

I-84 rollover crash near Ten Mile caused major delays

Idaho State Police said a single-vehicle crash late Friday night on westbound Interstate 84 in Meridian overturned a box truck after it hit the median barrier. Westbound lanes were blocked while crews cleared the vehicle and debris, and traffic was diverted at the Ten Mile off-ramp.

Police reported the driver was not injured, while a passenger was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Investigators noted the driver was wearing a seat belt; the passenger was not.

Leashes back on at Ann Morrison Park; seasonal restrictions expand

Starting Sunday, the city’s off-leash program ended at Ann Morrison Park, meaning dogs should be back on a lead except in designated areas. In addition, dogs are restricted at major sports complexes during peak seasons, aligning park use with spring and summer field schedules.

• If you drive I-84 regularly, expect intermittent cleanup-related slowdowns after major incidents, especially near key interchanges.
