Downtown: Bank of America buildout at Newport Tower

Bank of America is expanding in the Newport area with a major buildout at 525 Washington Blvd. The plan calls for an additional 548,000 square feet across 17 floors under a 15-year lease, with construction underway and completion expected before the end of 2026. The update adds to a wave of office and amenity upgrades around the Newport PATH station.

Also in Newport: $1M grants for local nonprofits

Newport’s owners announced a $1 million initiative to support 40 Jersey City-based nonprofits as the neighborhood marks 40 years. Grants are expected to start at $10,000, with larger awards available, and applications are open through April 10. All selected groups are expected to be invited to an awards event later this year.
