Robbery investigation ends with arrest

Aurora police say a 22-year-old man accused of intentionally ramming a woman’s vehicle to set up a gunpoint robbery was arrested Tuesday, March 3, after officers spotted him near East Colfax Avenue and North Potomac Street. Investigators say he refused to stop, leading to a pursuit that continued onto Interstate 76 and ended after a second PIT maneuver stopped the vehicle. Police say the suspect was arrested on allegations including aggravated robbery and felony eluding.

ICE detention center concerns back in the spotlight

A coalition of metro-area nonprofit groups released a report this week raising concerns about medical care, nutrition and day-to-day living conditions at the federal immigration detention facility in Aurora operated by GEO Group.
