Upgrades at Point State Park are complete, and organizers say security planning and transportation logistics are moving forward. Some bridge and road closures are expected near Acrisure Stadium and the official draft campus, with more details to be released in the coming weeks.

Leaders say the economic ripple effects should extend beyond Downtown, with visitors booking rooms and dining in neighborhoods throughout the region.

Pittsburgh Public Schools To Close During Draft Week

In anticipation of heavy traffic and public safety demands during draft week, Pittsburgh Public Schools will close Wednesday through Friday that week. District leaders cited transportation challenges and the expected influx of visitors as key reasons for the decision.

The move is designed to ease congestion and allow city services to focus on managing crowds and events tied to the national broadcast.

Fringe Festival Brings Indie Arts To Local Stages

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Fringe Festival is underway, transforming coffee shops, galleries and small theaters into performance spaces through March 28. Now in its 13th year, the 10-day festival features roughly 50 performances, spotlighting experimental comedy, puppetry, poetry and other boundary-pushing art.

Organizers say the event offers a chance for residents to connect with local and visiting artists in intimate venues across the city. Shows continue throughout the week.
