Theatre, Tournaments and Family Shows Fill a Busy Week in Colorado Springs
It has been a lively few days across Colorado Springs, with downtown stages, local arenas and high school gyms all buzzing with activity.
Clue Brings Mystery to Downtown
The national tour of Clue – Live On Stage stopped at Pikes Peak Center on March 23 and 24, drawing theatergoers downtown for two nights of fast-paced comedy and classic whodunit intrigue.
The production, based on the beloved board game and film, delivered a colorful set, sharp timing and plenty of twists. With evening performances both nights, nearby restaurants and parking garages saw a noticeable bump in traffic as audiences turned the shows into full nights out.
Youth Hoops Take Over Widefield
On the city’s south side, Widefield High School hosted the Colorado Springs Classic – Mountain West tournament March 21 and 22. The regional basketball event brought boys and girls teams from elementary through high school levels together for a packed weekend of competition.
With a four-game guarantee for participating teams, the tournament kept courts busy and families filling local hotels and restaurants. Events like this continue to highlight Colorado Springs as a steady hub for youth sports along the Front Range.
Disney On Ice Wraps at Broadmoor World Arena
Families also flocked to the Broadmoor World Arena as Disney On Ice presented Road Trip Adventures from March 19 through March 22. The multi-day run featured several showtimes, including matinees that drew younger audiences and weekend crowds.
The production blended figure skating, elaborate costumes and familiar characters, offering a spring break-style outing for many local families. Arena officials noted strong attendance across the four-day engagement.
From touring theatre downtown to youth athletics and large-scale family entertainment, the past week showcased the variety of events that keep Colorado Springs’ venues active as March winds down.
