Homestead opens FY 2027 budget survey ahead of July 29 workshop

Homestead has opened its FY 2027 budget survey and scheduled a public workshop for July 29, giving residents two ways to weigh in before spending priorities move ahead.

The survey asks people to rank city priorities, including public safety, roads and infrastructure, parks and recreation, community programs, internal operations, and economic development. It also asks whether residents would back a small tax or fee increase for service improvements, or accept service cuts if taxes or fees were reduced.

City Hall says the survey is anonymous and intended to help guide future financial planning, using resident feedback to see whether budget allocations match community priorities. The Finance & Budget Department handles implementation and control of the approved budget, along with financial reporting.

The calendar lists a Budget Workshop Public Notice for Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the City Manager’s Training Room at 100 Civic Court.
