Georgetown Gas Prices Differ by 18 Cents; Diesel Tops $5
Georgetown station listings showed an 18-cent regular-gas spread Friday, while 7-Eleven listed diesel at $5.199 and Texas gasoline prices eased.
Regular gasoline prices at two Georgetown stations differed by 18 cents per gallon Friday, while diesel at the 7-Eleven on Westinghouse Road was listed above $5.
Local prices vary by station
Costco at 2201A N. Interstate 35 was listed at $3.659 per gallon for regular gasoline on Friday. The price came from a community-submitted station listing, which warns that actual prices may vary and that the pump price at the time of purchase controls.
The 7-Eleven at 2090 Westinghouse Road listed regular gasoline at $3.479 per gallon and diesel at $5.199. The station says fuel prices are updated within 24 hours, so drivers should verify the posted price before fueling.
The two regular-gas listings are not a comprehensive Georgetown average. They are a snapshot of two stations, with the 7-Eleven listing 18 cents below the Costco listing. Checking more than one location could matter for households filling larger tanks or businesses buying fuel for several vehicles.
Gas eased statewide while diesel moved higher
AAAโs July 31 Texas price check put the statewide average at $3.630 for regular gasoline and $5.042 for diesel. Regular gasoline was down from $3.643 the previous day and $3.709 a week earlier.
Diesel moved in the opposite direction. The Texas statewide average was slightly above the previous dayโs $5.035 and higher than the $4.900 average recorded one week earlier. Those figures describe statewide averages, not Georgetownโs local pump average.
Why the difference matters locally
For commuters and families, an 18-cent-per-gallon difference can add up over repeated fill-ups, particularly for drivers traveling between Georgetown, Round Rock, Austin and surrounding communities. Contractors, delivery operators, landscapers, repair companies and other service businesses may feel diesel costs more directly because fuel is part of the cost of every route and job.
Restaurants, retailers and other businesses can also face indirect effects when delivery and service fleets pay more for diesel. The current data does not establish a cause for the movement, but it does show gasoline easing statewide while diesel remains above $5 on average in Texas.
Drivers should check the posted pump price before completing a purchase, especially when relying on third-party station listings. What are the highest and lowest regular-gas or diesel prices you are seeing around Georgetown?
