Whittier Gas Prices: Regular Hits $5.36 as Metro Diesel Tops $7.11
A Whittier station lists regular gas at $5.359, while AAA reports Los Angeles-Long Beach averages of $5.710 for gas and $7.113 for diesel.
Regular gasoline and diesel prices were both higher in the latest AAA price check for the Los Angeles-Long Beach metro area, while one Whittier station listed regular gas below that broader benchmark.
The 7-Eleven at 14968 Mulberry Drive in Whittier listed regular gasoline at $5.359 per gallon, according to its station page, which says the price was updated within 24 hours. That is about 35 cents below AAAโs current Los Angeles-Long Beach regular-gas average of $5.710.
The station price applies only to that location. It should not be treated as a citywide Whittier average, and prices can differ at nearby pumps.
Regular gas moves higher
AAAโs Los Angeles-Long Beach metro average for regular gasoline rose from $5.707 the previous day to $5.710. It was also above the week-ago average of $5.683, the month-ago average of $5.425 and the year-ago average of $4.473.
For a driver filling a 15-gallon tank, the difference between the Mulberry Drive station listing and the metro average is about $5.27 per fill-up. Actual savings depend on the station, payment method and when the price changes.
Diesel remains more expensive
AAA listed diesel at $7.113 per gallon across the Los Angeles-Long Beach metro area, up from $7.108 the previous day and $7.048 a week earlier. The metro diesel average was $6.680 one month ago and $5.152 one year ago.
That gap matters most for contractors, delivery operators, commercial drivers, landscapers, service businesses and companies that rely on frequent shipments. Higher diesel costs can put pressure on fuel budgets, delivery charges, service calls and other work that depends on heavier vehicles.
Statewide context
The latest weekly data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration put Californiaโs regular-gas average at $5.489 and on-highway diesel at $6.670 for the week ending July 27. The data was released July 28 and covers the entire state, so it is not a direct substitute for the more current AAA metro figures.
For Whittier drivers, the practical takeaway is to compare nearby stations rather than assume one posted price represents the whole city. The Mulberry Drive stationโs regular-gas listing was below the metro average, while the broader metro diesel benchmark remained above $7 per gallon.
