Woodbury Gas Near $4 While Twin Cities Diesel Holds Above $5
Woodbury membership stations listed regular gas near $4 on Aug. 1, while the Twin Cities diesel average reached $5.128 and rose from last week.
Regular gas was listed near $4 per gallon at two Woodbury membership fuel centers on August 1, while diesel across the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro averaged $5.128 per gallon and moved higher than a week earlier.
The latest figures show two separate movements: regular gasoline eased across the metro, while diesel continued to rise. Local Woodbury station listings were close to the metro regular-gas average, but they do not represent a citywide average.
Woodbury regular gas was near $4
Samโs Clubโs Woodbury fuel center at 9925 Hudson Road listed regular unleaded at $3.889 per gallon. The retailer says prices may vary and that the actual price at the pump controls.
A Costco Woodbury station listing for 7070 Tamarack Road reported regular gasoline at $3.97 per gallon, with the page showing an update about 18 minutes earlier when checked. The listing also warns that the pump price may differ.
Those are point-in-time prices from two specific stations, not a Woodbury-wide average. Prices at other stations can vary based on location, membership status, payment method and the time of day.
Metro regular gas fell while diesel rose
AAAโs Minneapolis-St. Paul metro figures showed regular gasoline averaging $3.992 per gallon and diesel averaging $5.128 on August 1.
The metro regular-gas average was down from $4.109 a week earlier, a decrease of 11.7 cents per gallon. Diesel moved in the opposite direction, rising from $5.103 a week earlier to $5.128, an increase of 2.5 cents per gallon.
AAAโs figures provide Minneapolis-St. Paul metro context rather than a Woodbury-specific average. The local station listings show what two Woodbury membership fuel centers were reporting at the time of the check.
What the split means locally
Regular gasoline near $4 matters most for household budgets, daily commuters and weekend travelers. Diesel above $5 is more significant for delivery operators, contractors, landscaping companies, service businesses and other commercial users that rely on heavier vehicles or equipment.
For Woodbury drivers, a continuing decline in regular gas could provide modest relief at passenger-vehicle fuel stops. Businesses that purchase diesel may continue to face higher operating costs if diesel prices remain above the $5 mark.
Actual prices can change during the day. Drivers should check the station sign or pump before completing a purchase, especially when comparing membership-club prices with nearby retail stations.
