Minneapolis prepares for final day of WWE SummerSlam weekend

Minneapolis is hosting the final scheduled night of WWE SummerSlam 2026 on Sunday, Aug. 2, as the two-night event continues at U.S. Bank Stadium and free fan programming remains available at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Night one took place Saturday, Aug. 1. Axios Twin Cities reported that roughly 30,000 fans are expected at U.S. Bank Stadium each night. Minnesota Sports and Events estimates that SummerSlam and related activities could generate a $100 million economic impact across the region. That figure is a projection, not a final audited result and not a city-only revenue total.

Sunday’s SummerSlam schedule

The second SummerSlam night is scheduled for Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium, 401 Chicago Ave. The stadium’s official announcement confirms that Minneapolis is hosting the event on Aug. 1 and 2, 2026. It also describes the weekend as WWE’s first stadium event in Minneapolis.

The ticketed stadium event is one part of the weekend’s Minneapolis programming. WWE is also operating official fan activities at the Convention Center, giving residents and visitors a free option outside the main event.

Free fan activities continue at the Convention Center

WWE’s SummerSlam Superstore and SummerSlam Takeover continue Sunday at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 2nd Ave. S. WWE lists entry to both as free to the public.

WWE lists Sunday Superstore hours as 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Takeover activities are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The programming includes merchandise, fan activations, photo opportunities and other experiences. WWE says autograph and photo opportunities are paid experiences, require tickets and may be subject to capacity.

The Convention Center programming gives residents and visitors an option beyond the ticketed stadium event and keeps official SummerSlam activity running during the day before the scheduled second night.

What the weekend means downtown

For Minneapolis residents, downtown workers and visitors, the event brings a large stadium gathering and a separate free fan destination to the downtown area. That creates potential relevance for nearby entertainment venues, businesses and people planning visits, but the available sources do not establish specific sales, traffic levels or public-safety incidents.
