Salinas police prepare for National Night Out at Sports Complex
Salinas residents can attend a free National Night Out event Tuesday, August 4, at the Salinas Sports Complex.
The event is scheduled from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and is being presented by the Salinas Police Department as an opportunity to build police-community partnerships, share safety information and connect residents with local agencies and programs.
Event details
National Night Out will take place at the Salinas Sports Complex. Admission is free, and the department describes the gathering as a family event.
The department’s news page announced the event June 30, 2026. As of Monday, August 3, the event is scheduled for the following day and has not yet taken place.
Activities planned
The department’s 2026 event flyer lists food trucks, a kids’ zone, music, giveaways, K-9 demonstrations and drone demonstrations.
Police-community focus
Salinas police say National Night Out gives officers and residents a chance to meet in a relaxed setting, answer questions, share safety information and build relationships that support long-term public safety.
The department also says the event is intended to increase awareness of local police programs, strengthen relationships with partner agencies and connect families with community resources.
The department’s event page listed July 27, 2026, as the deadline for agencies, nonprofits, community groups and other organizations seeking booth space. That registration deadline has passed.
Residents planning to attend should check official Salinas Police Department channels before leaving for any same-day schedule or event changes.
