Irmo’s National Night Out brings residents and police together
Residents gathered at Moore Park on Oct. 6 for Irmo’s annual National Night Out, a free community event hosted by the Town of Irmo and Irmo Police Department, according to WIS-TV. The post-event report said the gathering featured food, music and games.
The Town of Irmo’s Oct. 6 council agenda listed the event at 7473 Church Street from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and said council members planned to attend. The agenda does not establish which members were there.
Mayor Bill Danielson told WIS he wanted children to see police and other first responders as friends and helpers. The event offered residents and families a casual opportunity to meet first responders and town officials. No attendance total or measured public-safety outcome was reported.
